Iyanla Vanzant Joins Formerly Incarcerated Women for Private Screening of 'Women Transcend'

On March 1, 2024, Colorlines hosted a private and invitation-only screening of Women Transcend for formerly incarcerated women and their supporters. The event took place at Women Building Up in Brooklyn, New York. Many of the women that appear in the film were in the audience cheering each other on. The film was followed by a deeply-moving discussion hosted by the incredible Dr. Iyanla Vanzant with leaders Cheryl Wilkins, Ivy Mathis, Mama Glo, and Consuela Gaines. Photos by Rabia Syed Maral
