The digital premiere of the historic “Purple Rain” concert, which took place on March 30, 1985, in Syracuse, New York, is in collaboration with YouTube and Google “in support of the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the @WHO, powered by @unfoundation and Swiss Philanthropy Foundation,” the estate tweeted.

The “Prince & the Revolution” concert footage was the first time that Prince released a live concert video on a television broadcast and on home video. The 1984 film "Purple Rain," which the pop star released a month after the studio album, was added to the Library of CongressNational Film Registry last year.

Revolution drummer Bobby Z., who is also featured in the footage, will host a pre-show Q&A session an hour before the premiere. To tune in to the event, taking place May 14-17, visit the “Prince & The Revolution: Live” YouTube site.
