Chance The Rapper Honors Muhammad Ali in This Must-See ESPYs Performance

Jamila Woods, Donnie Trumpet and a gospel choir joined Chance for a stirring ode to the boxer and racial justice advocate.

Last night's (July 13) 2016 ESPY Awards paid tribute to the boxer whose fearless confrontation of American racism and imperialism still, after nearly 40 years, pushes top-flight athletes to use their celebrity for advancing social justice: Muhammad Ali.

The sports awards ceremony, which centered racial justice from the jump with opening remarks on police brutality from four NBA stars, honored Ali's enduring legacy with a rousing performance by Chance the Rapper. The Chicago MC led an ensemble that included Jamila Woods, members of The Social Experiment and a gospel choir through a new song that featured excerpts of Ali's speeches and remarks about God and equality.

Chance also shared a funny clip of him and Golden State Warriors phenom Stephen Curry dancing to the refrain from the "Jones BBQ and Foot Massage" viral video:
