A Tribe Called Quest's new music video for "We the People..." features a call to fight oppression that's worthy of the song's powerful lyrics. It features the group spitting in front of an assembly of microphones in a warehouse, broadcasting to young people of color across New York City as they evade riot gear-clad police and assemble for a massive protest.
On the chorus, Q-Tip sends up discriminatory dog whistles, rapping, "All you Black folks, you must go/All you Mexicans, you must go/And all you poor folks, you must go/Muslims and gays, boy, we hate your ways." Recently deceased group member Phife Dawg also appears in the video, with a graffiti mural of his likeness coming to life to rap his verse.
