In the debut episode of "The Movement," activist and writer Darnell Moore goes to Camden, N.J., to meet folks who challenge the lie that Black people don't care about violent crime unless it's committed by police.

"The Movement," a compelling Mic.com series hosted by activst and writer Darnell Moore, debuted yesterday, January 19. The first of six mini-documentaries focuses on "unsung heroes" who fight the chronic, pervasive disease of gun violence in Camden, N.J., Moore's hometown. Camden, says Moore, is the poorest city in the United States, and it is consistently ranked as one of the most dangerous. "The Movement" puts a much-deserved lens on what people from this city are doing to stop shootings before they even start.
