The critically acclaimed series revisits late-'80s Manhattan to explore ball culture, a subculture primarily led by Black and Brown LGBTQ folks. The Hollywood Reporter notes that "Pose" made history for having the largest LGBTQ cast of any narrative TV series, and director and producer Janet Mock is the first Black transgender woman to direct a primetime show.
