ABC’s groundbreaking hit sitcom “Fresh Off the Boat” had its curtain call after six seasons on February 21, but its executive producers Melvin Mar and Jake Kasdan, and series writer and co-producer Cindy Fang, are collaborating to develop a new comedy called “Asian Descent,” Variety reports.

The project, to be produced by Fox 21 Television Studios for Freeform, is described as “a dark comedy about an aspiring musician who sets aside her dreams and pride by moving back home with her immigrant parents and leans on her high school friends to figure out the next chapter of her life,” according to Variety.

Still in the early stages of the development, SlashFilm reported on March 4 that a cast and premiere date have yet to be announced.
