Black students at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts with a determined financial need will be the priority in receiving a new scholarship from Codeblack Films, a division of Lionsgate.

The first $50,000 Lionsgate/Codeblack Films Fund for Student Support scholarship will be awarded next month.

Lionsgate has also launched the Codeblack Screenwriting Contest geared toward black students that will award $25,000 to the best feature film and TV scripts submitted.
