Childish Gambino, Janelle Monáe and More POC Lead Coachella Lineup

They will join Solange, Bad Bunny and other marquee artists and rising stars of color in the California desert this spring.

Childish Gambino (a.k.a. Donald Glover) and Janelle Monáe will take their talents to Indio, California, this spring for the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Event company Goldenvoice announced the full lineup for this year's festival yesterday (January 2):

They will topline the festival's Friday night (April 12 and 19) shows. Other noteworthy artists of color who will grace the stage during the two-weekend event include Solange, Anderson. Paak, Khalid, J. Balvin, Jaden Smith, Kid Cudi, Bad BunnyBazzi, H.E.R. and Ocho Ojos. Solange performs a year after joining sister Beyoncé, the festival's first Black woman headliner, for her epic celebration of Black culture.
