Breaking News: Angie Zapata's Killer Found Guilty of a Hate Crime

By Julianne Hing Apr 22, 2009

This is justice. Allen Andrade, 32, was this afternoon found guilty of first degree, bias-motivated murder, identity theft and aggravated motor theft, for killing Angie Zapata, an 18-year-old transgender woman in Greeley, Colorado last summer. The court case went quick--it was supposed to last two weeks but opening statements and the guilty verdict came back in less than a week. The jury deliberated quickly, and Andrade likely faces life in prison without parole. Check out the Colorado Independent's coverage, and AngieZapata.com for more updates.
