NBC Asian America's "Jubilee Project: Voices" video series features Asian Americans of varying backgrounds talking about topics central to their lives. Following episodes highlighting the "lunchbox moment" and Vincent Chin, the third episode focuses on #BlackLivesMatter and the importance of Asian Americans' support for and solidarity with racial justice movements.
"I may not know the right thing to say politically, but if I had a friend that I cared about and they're hurting, I would want to be there with them," says comedian Jenny Yang. And Angry Asian Man's Phil Yu addressed the overaching theme of solidarity: "At some point, you have to come to the decision: am I in it for myself or am I in it for the broader struggle?"
