Arts and activism collective Blackout for Human Rights brings the musical celebration back to Harlem for a third year. Featured performers and speakers include actress Lupita Nyong’o ("Black Panther"), The Roots frontman Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter, "A Wrinkle in Time" star Storm Reid, CNN commentator Symone D. Sanders and activist rapper Tef Poe. Comedian and author Baratunde Thurston returns to host.
"MLK Now 2018" takes place at the Riverside Church in Harlem, where Dr. King famously delivered his speech "Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence" in 1967. Blackout for Human Rights hosts the event in partnership with the Campaign for Black Male Achievement, Color for Change, The Root and PICO National Network.
