Host Soledad O’Brien began the series back in April with an in-depth look at Martin Luther King’s assasination forty years after his death. But last night’s episode was the first that delved in the issues facing the Black community and it was jam packed. Black Women & the Family, day one featured a story about Blacks and whites connected by blood through a history of slavery; a look at Black children, the education system, and possible solutions; and also health disparities. Like most media that take on the Black family, CNN covered fatherlessness, single Black women in search of relationships, and violence within the community.
