Singer/songwriter Joy Postell has released an acoustic music video titled “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot.” The 22-year-old lives in Los Angeles by way of Baltimore—which is currently under a state of emergency following protests over the death of Freddie Gray in police custody.
“These protests reflect the amount of rage bubbling in black communities, and for me, I believe that music is one of the most powerful forms of dialogue that we have,” says Gray, who’s accompanied on the recording by guitarist Steve Francell.
