On Sunday, Audra McDonald won the Tony Award for best leading actress in a musical and became the first black actress to ever win five Tony Awards. McDonald was honored for her powerful portrayal of Bess in "The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess." "I was a little a girl with a potbelly and afro puffs, hyperactive and overdramatic.
