The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) will celebrate its opening later this month with a suite of dope programming, including a festival with pioneering Black musicians and bands.
Public Enemy, Living Colour, Meshell Ndegeocello and The Roots will all perform during a three-day festival on Washington, D.C.’s National Mall. Called "Freedom Sounds: A Community Celebration," the festival starts on September 23, one day before the NMAAHC cuts the ribbon and open its doors to the public.
