Bay Area protestors have hung a giant banner with the words "Black Power Matters" on the Oakland federal building this morning. The action is part of a weekend of protests scheduled throughout the Bay Area this holiday weekend that aim "Reclaim King’s Legacy." Protestors have also stopped some BART service in downtown San Francisco as part of the actions. This weekend’s events culminate in a Jobs and Economy March for the People on Monday, Jan. 19, beginning at 11 a.m. PST at Oscar Grant Plaza (Fruitvale BART), according to a press release.
