HBO<\/a> just announced a call for submissions for its annual HBO Asian Pacific American Visionaries<\/a> short film competition. Launched in 2016, it\u2019s a \u201cplatform for emerging filmmakers to share their unique and diverse perspectives on the community,\u201d per the company\u2019s statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the most important ways that we lift each other up is by creating opportunity for one another\u2014opportunity to share our intimate stories, opportunity to be seen and heard, opportunity to grow through one another,\u201d Shannon Lee<\/a>, CEO of Bruce Lee Enterprises<\/a> said in the statement. \u201cHBO APA Visionaries is creating opportunities that didn\u2019t exist for someone like my father back when he was making media in the \u201960s and \u201970s, and I am honored and grateful to be an ambassador for the program this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
