Where the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0108894\/\" target=\"_blank\">original 1994 series<\/a> saw the Salinger siblings&rsquo; parents die in a car crash, the new show follows the five Acosta children after their parents are abruptly deported to Mexico.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Starring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm5852967\/\" target=\"_blank\">Niko Guardado<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm3837944\/?ref_=tt_cl_t2\" target=\"_blank\">Brandon Larracuente<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm9153610\/\" target=\"_blank\">Elle Paris Legaspi<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm6376834\/\" target=\"_blank\">Emily Tosta<\/a> (the fifth sibling is an infant), the show exposes the harsh reality of life for a Latinx family living in the United States. In the trailer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wdtvpress.com\/freeform\/press-releases\/\" target=\"_blank\">released on May 14<\/a>, the parents are hauled into court in a challenge to their citizenship. The aftermath is that the children are left to struggle, and ultimately survive, as a family on their own. As the&nbsp;eldest child Emilio (played by Larracuente) says in the trailer, &ldquo;Mommy and Papi managed with a lot less than we had and they figured it out.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Details for the premiere of &ldquo;Party of Five&rdquo; have yet to be announced.
