Afropunk Brooklyn<\/a> will take over Commodore Barry Park on August 24 and 25 this year. The festival announced its lineup via Twitter and Instagram, and it includes headliners Jill Scott,<\/a> FKA Twigs<\/a> and Kamasi Washington<\/a>, Pitchfork<\/a> reported on March 27. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s theme is \u201cWe See You,\u201d a phrase that promotes \u201ca message that brings together Afropunk ideology and the people who support it, under the banner of acknowledgement, in resistance to those who strive to oppress,\u201d according to the festival.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Other acts confirmed to perform include Leon Bridges<\/a>, Toro y Moi<\/a>, Tierra Whack<\/a>, Rico Nasty<\/a> and Santigold<\/a>, who announced her 10 Years Golden anniversary tour<\/a> last month. <\/p>\n
