Write Glenn Beck A Poem, Join The Haik U Beck Twitterstorm

By Julianne Hing Apr 08, 2010

Remember when your favorite (and by "favorite" I mean most reviled) cable television commentator Glenn Beck blasted any religion that dedicates itself to "social justice"–that sin of sins? His exact words were:

I beg you, look for the words ‘social justice’ or ‘economic justice’ on your church website. If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice are code words [for Communism and Nazism]. Am I advising people to leave their church? Yes!

Well this morning, April 7, starting at 9am on the East Coast faith groups led by the folks from the Jewish Funds for Justice kicked off their 24-hour Twitterstorm to send Glenn Beck a haiku every minute of the day until tomorrow. People have written some fun ones–I’ve collected a few of my favorites below. If you feel so inclined, head over to Twitter and throw in the hashtag #becku so the Haik U Glenn Beck folks can track your contribution. Because sometimes all you need is 140 characters and a cumulative 17 syllables to tell Glenn Beck how you really feel about him.
