Marvel marked yesterday’s (June 29) "Black Panther #3" comic release with a new video featuring author Ta-Nehisi Coates explaining the title character’s emotional and political struggles.

"[Black Panther’s homeland of] Wakanda’s suffering through cataclysmic violence," Coates says in the new episode of Marvel’s video series "Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet," which features the award-winning culture critic and writer discussing the comic. "And this guy has to deal with bureaucracy, this guy has to deal with administration—I mean, this is what kings have to do!"

The newest episode features panels from the series’ second issue alongside Coates’ commentary. Watch it above.
