Even a cursory look at the names and faces of the people who died in the June 12 massacre at Pulse Orlando’s “Upscale Latin Saturdays” party makes it clear that the attack claimed the lives of dozens of Latinx and Black people. In recognition of the impact the shooting is having on queer and trans people of color, Familia: Trans Queer Liberation Movement—a national organization that advocates around the issues that affect people who fall at the intersection of the LBGTQ and Latinx communities—spoke to activists Alan Pelaez Lopez, Bea Esperanza Fonseca, Jorge Gutierrez and Jennicet Gutierrez. The video above captures their powerful responses to the question: “What are your thoughts on the #PulseOrlando shooting?”
