Richard Wright’s "Native Son" is a seminal text in 20th century African-American literature. The reason is pretty straightforward. Wright was a talented writer unafraid to tackle race. His acting skills? Maybe not so great. Still, the folks over at Shadow and Act unearthed this 1951 performance in which Wright plays the role of his lead character, Bigger Thomas.
