Singer Normani—formerly of girl group Fifth Harmony—dropped the video for her new song “Motivation” Friday (August 16), via Twitter, and fans can’t get enough of the throwback visual. Rocking a shirt with “1996” spraypainted on it and dancing through setups reminiscent of videos from Aaliyah, Beyoncé, Ciara and more, it prompted many to tweet about the joy they got from the thoughtful homage and how it bigs up the talent of the Black women artists who paved the way for Normani and all who followed:

Y’all ever witness history right as it happens? Like you just know what you’re witnessing will be remebered for years to come? Yeah that’s what I felt when I watched normani’s music video for motivation
