WATCH: Activists In America’s Poorest City Fight Gun Violence Like the Preventable Disease It Is

By Akiba Solomon Jan 20, 2016

"The Movement," a compelling Mic.com series hosted by activst and writer Darnell Moore, debuted yesterday, January 19. The first of six mini-documentaries focuses on "unsung heroes" who fight the chronic, pervasive disease of gun violence in Camden, N.J., Moore’s hometown. Camden, says Moore, is the poorest city in the United States, and it is consistently ranked as one of the most dangerous. "The Movement" puts a much-deserved lens on what people from this city are doing to stop shootings before they even start.
