Filmmakers examine communities fighting against the Trump Administration‘s targeted assaults in "Our 100 Days," a weekly short documentary series that launched on Fusion yesterday (May 18).

Independent film production organizations Firelight Media and Field of Vision created "Our 100 Days" to depict communities singled out by 45’s orders and rhetoric as they resist.

To that end, the series’ first short, "An Act of Worship," looks at Muslim activists organizing against the first pointed "travel ban." Directors Nausheen Dadabhoy ("Josh") and Sofian Khan ("Gaucho del Norte") follow Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Los Angeles leader Hussam Ayloush and National Lawyers Guild executive director Ameena Mirza Qazi as they organized protests and filed lawsuits against Trump’s executive order.

The future documentary roster has not been released, but Field of Vision did announce involved filmmakers of color, including Nadia Hallgren ("Love Lockdown"), Adele Pham ("Motoo") and Cecilia Aldarondo ("Memories of a Penitent Heart").

"The current moment in the U.S. is a result of our collective refusal to tell the whole story of America," Firelight Media’s Stanley Nelson ("Tell Them We Are Rising") said in Field of Vision’s statement. "Not only do we need new stories, we need new storytellers."

"By documenting these first 100 days from the perspective of communities most at risk—immigrants, Muslim Americans, transgender men and women—we want to reveal the threats our country is facing, and not normalize this political moment," Field of Vision’s Laura Poitras ("Risk") adds in the same statement.

"Our 100 Days" episodes premiere every Thursday on Fusion’s project-specific website. Firelight Media will also moderate Twitter conversations on the films each Thursday at 1 p.m. EDT under the hashtag, "#Our100Days."
