Administration Plans to Scale Back Real ID Law The Department of Homeland Security is considering replacing the Real ID law with the Pass ID. The new ID would not require new databases to cross check information on immigration status and social security. But it does require a picture photograph, signature, an individual bar code and a cross check with a federal database, which are all elements included in the Real ID.
