Only a few days after the anniversary of his and Talib Kweli’s landmark “Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star,” Mos Def has seriously revisited his past self.

For one, he’s going by Mos Def again. After several enigmatic years as Yasiin Bey, during which time he toured and recorded rarely, he released a track today as Mos Def. Additionally, the song, “Sensei on the Block” (which you can listen to below) harkens back to the sound he perfected with Black Star and on “Black On Both Sides.” While there’s no word yet whether he sticking with the name or even releasing a new album, this should be a welcome throwback for many Mos Def fans.
