McKinney Residents Urging Voters to Pressure District Leadership to Discipline Cop

By Kenrya Rankin Jun 08, 2015

In response to a story Colorlines posted on Facebook about Friday’s altercation between McKinney, Texas police officer Eric Casebolt and teens at a local pool, a Facebook user urged residents to flex their voter muscle. There will be a run-off election to fill city council seats in the city’s fourth district, making it perhaps a good time to express views on recent events. The user wrote: “Please call runoff candidates and demand they publicly denounce the actions of the officer, call for him to be fully removed from the force, and call to have him investigated and prosecuted.” 500+ users have given the post a thumbs up.
