Jeb Bush Mailer Pic Has People Asking ‘Why Jeb?’

By Sameer Rao Aug 24, 2015

Apparently, Jeb Bush’s campaign really needs some money—their design team is getting all the rules wrong (or right, depending on how you look at it).

The Internet is losing it over a photo from a mailer and publicity materials sent out by Right to Rise, a super PAC affiliated with the Republican presidential hopeful. In it, Bush stands proudly with his hands on his hips. But one hand’s skin is significantly darker than the other, leading people to speculate that Bush’s head was superimposed on the body of someone else.

MSNBC reported from several sources who collectively uncovered the multitudinous origins of the photo:

Liberal news blog ThinkProgress accused the group of superimposing the GOP nominee’s head onto the body of a black man, while TIME pointed out the background in the picture is actually a stock photo of Cedar Rapids. The originally photo appears to be seen here

A Right to Rise spokesman stated that the hand shade was caused by a nearby shadow, but that hasn’t stopped people (including Donald Trump) from taking to social media to make fun of the photo and ask, quite understandably, “Why?”:
