The Afropunk Festival is back with a vengeance. The 12th annual Brooklyn festival will take over Commodore Barry Park on August 27 and 28. Headliners will include Janelle Monáe, Ice Cube, George Clinton and Flying Lotus. True to the festival’s Black rocker roots, this year will also feature sets from TV on the Radio and Skunk Anansie, plus a superjam with members of Bad Brains, Fishbone and Living Colour.

Created as an extension of a documentary and digital platform that celebrate creative risk-taking and Black counterculture, Afropunk Festival has grown into an international phenomenon with annual stints in Brooklyn, Atlanta and Paris. Click here for the full line-up and ticketing info.
