Gabrielle Union Asks #WhoIsStaceyDash, Internet Goes In

The Internet is losing its collective shit over "The Birth of a Nation" star Gabrielle Union’s major dig at Stacey Dash, propelling #WhoIsStaceyDash to trend on social media.

The hashtag appeared after video surfaced of Union responding to a reporter from The Associated Press who asked her about Dash at the movie’s Sundance Film Festival premiere on Monday (January 25). The reporter specifically asked what Union thought about the Fox News contributor’s #OscarsSoWhite comments—on both the network and in a blog post—where she said that "if we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the [NAACP] Image Awards, where you’re only rewarded if you’re Black."

Union responded by asking with apparent sarcasm, "Who’s that? Who’s Stacey Dash? Is she like related to Dame Dash? Was she on Roc-A-Fella?" Stacey Dash is indeed related to Damon Dash, the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder who publicly criticized his cousin’s statements. Union then spoke to the importance of diversity and inclusion, adding, "The more that we focus on inclusion and a true representation of this country, I think that crazy lady will have less to say." Hilariously, the two actresses appeared in a movie together, so it’s safe to say that they probably know each other.

Stacey Dash eventually responded to critics by demanding an apology and saying that her views align with Morgan Freeman’s—all of which figured into the glory of #WhoIsStaceyDash as social media users lampooned the "Clueless" star’s cluelessness:
