Donald Trump Uses Brussels Attacks as Opportunity to Be Islamophobic

Leave it to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to respond to the bomb blasts in Brussels by doubling down on his Islamophobia and commenting on President Barack Obama’s Cuba visit.

Trump appeared on Fox Business today (March 22) to talk about the explosions that shook Brussels this morning. Responding to host Maria Bartiromo’s thought that Obama will probably "discuss the terrorist attack from the brutal communist dictatorship of Cuba," Trump asked, "I wonder how many Muslims Cuba is taking in every year? I wonder if they’re setting up a little area in Cuba for the Muslim population."

Trump addressed the attacks again during an appearance on "Fox and Friends." He reiterated his previous statements about banning and screening Muslim immigrants, saying: "Brussels was a beautiful city, a beautiful place with zero crime. And now it’s a disaster city. It’s a total disaster, and we have to be very careful in the United States. We have to be very careful and very vigilant as to who we allow in this country."

The three explosions in Brussels killed at least 34 people and wounded 170, according to the latest counts from CNN.
