Chance The Rapper Honors Muhammad Ali in This Must-See ESPYs Performance

Last night’s (July 13) 2016 ESPY Awards paid tribute to the boxer whose fearless confrontation of American racism and imperialism still, after nearly 40 years, pushes top-flight athletes to use their celebrity for advancing social justice: Muhammad Ali.

The sports awards ceremony, which centered racial justice from the jump with opening remarks on police brutality from four NBA stars, honored Ali’s enduring legacy with a rousing performance by Chance the Rapper. The Chicago MC led an ensemble that included Jamila Woods, members of The Social Experiment and a gospel choir through a new song that featured excerpts of Ali’s speeches and remarks about God and equality.

Chance also shared a funny clip of him and Golden State Warriors phenom Stephen Curry dancing to the refrain from the "Jones BBQ and Foot Massage" viral video:
