By Patrick Young, This post originally appeared at Long Island Wins The Catholic Bishops Conference will launch a national campaign through local churches to send hundreds of thousands of postcards to Congress calling for immigration reform. The campaign will begin during the first week of January. Antonio Cube, manager of the Church’s Justice for Immigrants Campaign, told Catholic News Service "We want to increase Catholic grass-roots support for immigration reform, but we also want to show members of Congress a strong Catholic voice and strong Catholic numbers in support of immigration reform". The Church is working with a coalition of religious groups called "Home for the Holidays," which stresses the need for reform to keep families from being split up.
