Broadway’s Stars Unite to Honor Pulse Shooting Victims

More than 60 current and veteran Broadway performers came together last week (June 15) to record a cover of “What The World Needs Now” in tribute to the victims of the June 12 Pulse Orlando massacre. Now, you can watch a poignant video of that recording.

Among the participants in the “Broadway for Orlando” project: Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton”), Audra McDonald (“Shuffle Along”), Gloria Estefan (“On Your Feet!”), B.D. Wong (“Pacific Overtures”) Rosie Perez (“Fish in the Dark”), Whoopi Goldberg (“Sister Act”) and Wayne Brady (“Kinky Boots”).

The audio track can be downloaded on iTunes. The group says all proceeds will be routed to Orlando-based LGBTQ advocacy group The Center.
