Tidal subscribers can take an animated tour through the African diaspora’s influence on Latinx music and culture via "Footprints," a new series that premiered on Friday (November 16).
Amara La Negra narrates the first episode, which The Root says explores works from notable Black salsa musicians Celia Cruz and Joe Arroyo. It also highlights reggaeton’s origin in Black Puerto Rican communities.
Tidal tweeted that "Footprints" will "celebrate the African and Indigenous legacies inherent to the many forms of Latinx song." The clip below previews what viewers can expect from the series.
