Justice Department Settles Racial Discrimination Lawsuit Against Arkansas City The Justice Department has reached a settlement with the city of Marion, Arkansas, and if approved by the U.S. District Court, will resolve the department’s lawsuit against the city alleging race discrimination in employment in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1965. Record Numbers of Asian Americans in L.A. County Voted for Obama A new survey released today shows that Asian Americans in L.A. County turned out in record numbers for the 2008 election, with 63% of Asian American voters supporting Barack Obama and 90% showing support for universal healthcare. Boston Hotel Sued for Discriminating Against Muslim Employees Moroccan and Muslim employees who used to work at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston have filed a lawsuit alleging that hotel managers and other workers both verbally abused and physically threatened them because of their race and religious beliefs.
