Attorneys for Grammy-nominated rapper 21 Savage announced yesterday (February 12) that he was granted release on bond from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention.
"He will not forget this ordeal or any of the other fathers, sons, family members and faceless people [that] he was locked up with or that remain unjustly incarcerated across the country," the Facebook statement from Charles Kuck, Dina LaPolt and Alex Spiro reads.
The news of his release, which The Washington Post and other media outlets report happens today (February 13), arrives a week after ICE confirmed it arrested the United Kingdom citizen over an allegedly expired visa. His detention prompted activists and fellow musicians to mobilize against his possible deportation.
