Former actor and comedian Bill Cosby was once called “America’s Dad”—until he was convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand. The imprisoned entertainer’s Twitter account posted a tweet yesterday (June 16) in honor of Father’s Day. Per USA Today, it was tweeted via his spokesperson, Andrew Wyatt, and it asked followers to commit to “strengthening our families and communities”:

Hey, Hey, Hey…It’s America’s Dad…I know it’s late, but to all of the Dads… It’s an honor to be called a Father, so let’s make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose —strengthening our families and communities.#HappyFathersDay#RenewedOathToOurFamily pic.twitter.com/6EGrF87t6G

“Mr. Cosby’s [message] consisted of telling these men who have been incarcerated for many years, but are up for parole soon … to … take the word “disadvantage” and remove the “dis,” and start focusing on the advantage,” Wyatt told USA Today. “That advantage is to be better fathers and productive citizens.”
Unsurprisingly, Twitter users were not interested in the message’s sender:

Naw you don’t get to call yourself America’s Dad. You lost that title a long time ago.
