S. Leigh Thompson is a social justice artist, community organizer and self-described "raging queer." Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Leigh first organized to fight the Nebraska's Defense of Marriage Amendment, and has continued to work and organize within queer and trans communities ever since. Over the years, he has worked for several local and national queer rights organizations, and currently serves as the Online Community Organizer for the Drop the I-Word Campaign. Leigh has worked with many different communities on a variety of issues, and is dedicated to engaging communities in anti-oppressive dialogues on power and privilege, and to developing tools to take action towards social justice.  

Leigh co-founded The Forum Project, a project of artist-advocates who work to offer creative methods through which individuals and communities can explore and understand the world, their community and their lives, and he currently serves on the board of Pedagogy of the Theatre of the Oppressed, Inc. He has a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and an individualized M.A. from NYU, where he studied political and campaign strategies, social change theory, community organizing and creative expression. Leigh lives in a queer community in Brooklyn, NY.
