DREAMer Benita Veliz will address the Democratic National Convention Wednesday night.
Veliz was detained after a traffic stop in 2009 and received a deportation order shortly after. Her name made national headlines in 2011 when she was spared deportation under new guidelines established by the Morton Memo on Prosecutorial Discretion, issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Veliz is scheduled to talk after Attorney General of California Kamala D. Harris and before Spanish language talk show host Cristina Saralegui.
