On Monday, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal called for residents in coastal parishes prone to flooding to voluntarily evacuate. The announcement came as tropical Storm Isaac continues west-northwestward over the eastern Gulf of Mexico and poses a significant storm surge threat to the northern Gulf coast.
Tropical storm Issac is expected to hit Louisiana as a strong category 1 hurricane with 75-90mph winds late Monday or early morning Tuesday.
Gov. Scott (R) also pulled out of convention activities due to the storm.
