A two-week old Change.org petition started by Trayvon Martin’s parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, surpassed the one millionth signature mark Thursday morning.

“Please join us in calling on Norman Wolfinger, Florida’s 18th District State’s Attorney, to investigate my son’s murder and prosecute George Zimmerman for the shooting and killing of Trayvon Martin,” the parents wrote on Change.org

A separate (and unrelated) Facebook and Twitter campaign is urging Trayvon Martin supporters to send empty bags of skittles to Bill Lee, the Sanford Police Department Police Chief who released Zimmerman after questioning.

“I have decided to join some of the poeple who will be personally MAILING AN EMPTY BAG OF SKITTLES to Sanford Police Chief Billy Lee,” wrote Brian J. Sullivan Jr. on the Facebook event page he created. “I am asking that you do the same, to honor Trayvon Martin and to act as a reminder to Sanford Police that this horrible injustice hasn’t gone unnoticed. Also, I will be mailing one to George Zimmerman as a reminder that he should be ashamed of his actions.”

Martin was reportedly carrying a bag of skittles and a can of iced tea at the time he was shot.
