Police surveillance video taken the night that Trayvon Martin was shot dead shows no blood or bruises on George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who says he shot Martin after he was punched in the nose, knocked down and had his head slammed into the ground.
The surveillance video released Wednesday night by ABC News shows no obvious head injuries on Zimmerman. At one point, an officer inspects the back of Zimmerman’s head but no medical actions were taken and interrogations followed.
In a 20-minute interview with WOFL-TV in Orlando, Robert Zimmerman, the gunman’s father, offered a detailed step-by-step account of what he says his son said happened.
“Trayvon Martin got on top of him and just started beating him,” claims the father. That, says Robert Zimmerman, is when Martin threatened to kill his son. George Zimmerman pulled out his firearm and shot Martin.
Robert Zimmerman also said he’s absolutely sure the voice heard in the background screaming for help in 911 recordings is his son.
Martin’s parents also say they are sure that’s their son.
“Yes I do. I believe that’s Trayvon Martin. That’s my baby’s voice. Every mother knows their child and that’s his voice,” Martin’s mother told Anderson Cooper last week.
