From the NY Times:

President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” a stunning honor that came less than nine months after he made United States history by becoming the country’s first African-American president.

What a way to end the week! I don’t think anyone saw this coming. It does seem like a very big gamble on Obama’s actions in the next three years of his administration. Did you break out the bubbly when you heard? Or did you scratch your head in confusion? Has Obama’s work in the last nine months merited the Nobel Peace Prize? Thoughts?
